THE SEVENTH EDITION OF THE MADRID ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL IS CELEBRATED FROM NOVEMBER 27 TO DECEMBER 4. IN THIS NEW APPOINTMENT, THE PUBLIC CAN VOTE FOR HIS FAVORITE FILM. BY MARÍA ALLER
For the seventh consecutive year, the best Italian productions visit Madrid. The appointment is the same as in previous editions, but in a different venue: Renoir Princesa cinemas (Plaza de los Cubos, c / Princesa, 3) now host the festival. And again free to the public until full capacity; Ticket office tickets are distributed every day after 4pm.
We reviewed five titles called to the meeting.
IL GIOVANE FAVOLOSO
Projection day: Saturday, December 29 at 9pm.
Plot: It is the tape that sweeps the Italian box office after having walked through the festivals of Venice or Toronto. The period title reviews the life of Giacomo Leopardi, from his departure from the oppressive world towards high society and his maladjustment to it.
Projection day: Sunday November 30 at 9pm.
Plot: Some sisters live in a town far from everything, since the father thinks that as the end of the world is approaching, contact with nature is better. An interesting reflection with charm about tradition and family relationships. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize in Cannes and recognized at the Seville European Film Festival.
A RAGAZZO D’ORO
Projection day: Tuesday, December 2 at 9pm.
Plot: A plot about reconciliation and the legacy of parent-child relationships, but through writing. David, the protagonist, writes the autobiography of his recently deceased father. The production has Sharon Stone.
IL CAPITALE UMANO
Projection day: Wednesday, December 3 at 9pm.
Plot: Running over a cyclist changes the course of the lives of two different class families. A call for attention to hypocrisy implanted within the high spheres of power. It can also be considered as the last social criticism after the wake marked at the beginning of the year by The great beauty. The best movie of the year in Italy.
THE SEDIA DELLA FELICITÀ
Projection day: Thursday, December 4 at 8pm (after the closing gala).
Plot: The final touch of the edition is this convoluted comedy that comes in the form of a treasure hunt: an esthetician with economic problems receives the confession of a dam: the hiding place of some jewels. The last work of the late Carlo Mazzacurati, this comedy has a repertoire of the most crazy characters and situations.
